The Best Dates Peanut Butter Chocolate (That Taste Naughty but Aren’t)
Share
If you’re craving something sweet but don’t want to demolish a full chocolate bar, dates with peanut butter and chocolate are your new best friend. They taste indulgent, but they’re surprisingly simple and wholesome.
Ingredients
-
8–12 Medjool dates (soft and juicy), or any that you can prepare.
-
3–4 tbsp smooth peanut butter
-
100g dark chocolate (70% cocoa works beautifully)
-
Optional: sea salt flakes or crushed nuts
How to Prepare the Dates
Slice each date lengthways and remove the stone. Gently open them like a little book, being careful not to split them in half.
Fill with Peanut Butter
Spoon about a teaspoon of peanut butter into the centre of each date. Smooth it slightly so it sits neatly inside to have peanut butter stuffed dates.
How to Melt the Chocolate
Break the chocolate into pieces and place in a heatproof bowl. Melt gently over a pan of simmering water (double boiler method), stirring until smooth. Alternatively, microwave in 20-second bursts, stirring between each round to avoid burning.
Cover with Chocolate
Using a spoon, drizzle the melted chocolate over each stuffed date, or dip them fully for complete coverage. Place the chocolate covered dates on baking paper.
How Long to Wait?
Pop them in the fridge for 20–30 minutes, or until the chocolate has fully set. Then… enjoy.
The Benefits
Dates are high in fibre and natural sugars for steady energy. Peanut butter adds protein and healthy fats, while dark chocolate provides antioxidants. Sweet, satisfying, and genuinely nourishing, so what’s not to love?
